Changing of the guard for T flight

Thursday saw our Training flight complete training in a special passing out parade, a first for 422 Squadron. The parade was the culmination of 6 months of initial training, giving the cadets vital skills and experience needed to embark on the rest of their cadet careers, with the entire array of camps, trips and courses becoming available to them. They had received instruction in first aid, leadership and aviation studies to name but a few areas covered. Awards were also presented during the parade for best overall cadet, endeavour, best drill/uniform and most improved.

T flight did not have the monopoly of awards for the evening, with the Comanding Officer making three promotions. Two new Flight Sergeants and a Corporal were promoted to reflect their achievements on the squadron and the growing cadet numbers giving rise to the need for more Cadet Non-Commissioned Officers.

The cadets and staff barely had a moment to relax with the squadron opening its doors to new recruits. No sooner had the old T flight progressed into A and B flights of the main squadron then it was time to do it all again. 24 new recruits were welcomed into the squadron tonight to begin their journey in the ATC. They have already had an introduction to some basic drill and have completed some team building exercises in order to help bond them together as a flight.
